Bill has worked as an actor and theatre director for more than fifteen years. His acting work includes seasons at The Royal Shakespeare Company, Shakespeare’s Globe, Chichester Festival Theatre and The Royal Court. His many film and TV appearances include SkyFall, World War Z and Spooks. Bill’s extensive directing credits at Shakespeare’s Globe include King Lear, his adaptation of Derek Walcott’s Omeros in the Wanamaker Playhouse, and co-directing the GlobetoGlobe production of Hamlet, a two-year tour to every country in the world. He has also directed the last seven Playing Shakespeare with Deutsche Bank productions; Globe Education’s flagship project for London schools, including this year’s production of Othello. His work as a Globe Education Learning Consultant includes developing their programme of workshops for the many thousands of students that visit the Globe each year. Bill’s current directing projects include his award-winning production of Stephen Sondheim’s Sweeney Todd, which is now playing on Shaftsbury Avenue in Harrington’s pop-up pie shop.
