Matthew studied Fine Art at the Slade School of Art and at the Royal Academy Schools in London, and won the Deutsche Bank Award in Fine Art in 2005. He has had solo public exhibitions at Gasworks, London; The Hayward, London; The Zabludowicz Collection, London; Kettles Yard, Cambridge; Tramway, Glasgow; GAM, Turin; The FRAC, Dunkirk and The Hepworth, Wakefield, and has exhibited in various major UK survey shows. Matthew’s work has also been exhibited worldwide at institutions including Bangkok Cultural Centre, Thailand; Fundacion Miro, Spain, Marco Museum, Spain and The FRAC pas de Calais, France. He is currently preparing a survey exhibition for Manchester City Art Gallery and is in the process of realising two large-scale public commissions – one for the Dutch government in Amsterdam and the other for Cambridge University here in the UK. Matthew is represented by Herald St Gallery in London, Jousse Enterprise in Paris and Lisa Cooley Gallery in New York.
