Bex is a graduate from Birmingham Conservatoire majoring on the cornet. She has performed and sung in many ensembles and brass groups all over the UK. She currently manages and plays flugelhorn for the championship section brass band, Aveley and Newham Band. Since graduating, Bex has worked in a number of roles within the charity and healthcare sectors. She joined the creative team at Help Musicians UK in February 2016. This role has given her many opportunities to meet various musicians across the UK and talk about the funding the charity has to offer for professional development and learning opportunities. Bex assesses and shortlists applications for numerous funding schemes the charity offers. Most recently she has been assessing applications for the National Grants Programme, which is for organisations working with musicians and their professional and artistic development. In her spare time, Bex enjoys going to concerts and gigs across all genres of music, in particular classic rock and ska.
