Dehydration is currently a huge problem for the NHS, the current cost per year is £0.95bn each year one which could be drastically reduced if individuals were more aware of their hydration levels. I am currently designing a hydration monitoring wristband, which works using bioelectrical impedance, aimed at people with Dementia in their homes to alert them when they are becoming dehydrated to prevent them from more severe symptoms, such as increased confusion, fatigue and dizziness. Monitoring their hydration levels in a easy way which has no impact on their routine will help save lives and improve their wellbeing.
