We are a Curatorial Collective dedicated to uncovering remarkable stories of private collections. Our first project, “Marcel”, aims to digitize and preserve over 1200 intimate and beautiful photographic negatives of occupied Paris, taken by the federal judge Marcel Frapier. These were found alongside documents detailing his involvement in the Nuremberg Trials and his contact with sensitive correspondences such as those of Hitler and General Petain. We wish to unveil and share with the public his unique view of a time of war and great turmoil, of a time when the photographic lens changed the way humanity perceived the world. We propose a journey through time and space through Marcel’s photographic lens.
